This is the ultimate Tanzania safari, covering the country’s four most celebrated parks in a single journey. From the endless plains of the Serengeti to the natural amphitheatre of the Ngorongoro Crater, every day brings extraordinary wildlife encounters and breathtaking landscapes.

Begin in Arusha, the safari capital of East Africa, before heading into Tarangire National Park — famous for its ancient baobab trees and massive elephant herds. Continue to the Serengeti, where two full days allow deep exploration of different ecosystems, from kopje-dotted plains to acacia woodlands. The journey climaxes at Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest unbroken caldera and home to an astonishing concentration of wildlife.

Throughout the safari, experienced Tanzanian guides share their knowledge of animal behavior, local ecology, and Maasai culture. This tour runs year-round, with the Great Migration adding a spectacular dimension between December and July.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

1

Arrival in Arusha

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transfer to your hotel in Arusha. Meet your safari guide for a briefing over dinner about the adventure ahead.

2

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Drive south to Tarangire, entering the park by mid-morning. Explore the park known for its massive elephant herds — often 300+ in a single sighting — ancient baobab forests, and tree-climbing pythons. Afternoon game drive along the Tarangire River.

3

Tarangire to Serengeti via Ngorongoro

Depart early and drive through the Ngorongoro highlands and down into the Serengeti. Stop at the Ngorongoro Gate for panoramic views of the crater below. Descend into the Serengeti for afternoon game driving in the Seronera Valley.

4

Full Day in the Serengeti

A full day exploring the Serengeti's diverse habitats. Morning drive focuses on the central Seronera area, famous for leopard sightings in sausage trees. Picnic lunch at a kopje (rocky outcrop), then continue to the western corridor or northern plains depending on migration patterns.

5

Second Day in the Serengeti

Another full day of game drives. Optional pre-dawn balloon safari over the plains (additional cost). Explore a different sector of the park, searching for cheetah hunts on the open grasslands, lion prides, and hyena dens. Visit a Maasai boma near the park boundary.

6

Serengeti to Ngorongoro

Morning game drive en route out of the Serengeti. Stop at Olduvai Gorge, the "Cradle of Mankind," where the Leakey family discovered 1.8-million-year-old hominid fossils. Continue to the Ngorongoro rim for sunset views into the crater.

7

Ngorongoro Crater Descent

Descend 600 metres into the crater floor for a full day of game viewing. The 260 km² caldera is home to approximately 25,000 large animals including the Big Five. Excellent chances of seeing black rhino. Picnic lunch beside a hippo pool. Ascend in the late afternoon.

8

Ngorongoro to Lake Manyara

Drive to Lake Manyara National Park for a half-day game drive. The park is famous for tree-climbing lions and vast flocks of flamingos on the alkaline lake. Also spot blue monkeys, olive baboons, and over 400 bird species in this compact gem.

9
