Unlike East African parks where you stay in your vehicle, Kruger offers the unique thrill of bush walks where you track animals on foot. Morning and evening game drives in open Land Rovers provide 360-degree viewing, while the park’s excellent road network also allows self-drive flexibility.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Arrival & Afternoon Game Drive

Transfer from Johannesburg (5 hrs) or Nelspruit Airport (1 hr) to your private reserve on Kruger's western boundary. Settle in with lunch, then head out for your first open-vehicle game drive as the afternoon light turns golden. Sundowner drinks in the bush. Return for a gourmet dinner.

Full Day of Game Viewing

Pre-dawn wake-up call with coffee and rusks. Head out in the open Land Rover as the bush comes alive. Track big cats while their paw prints are still fresh in the morning dew. Return for a full breakfast, then a guided bush walk with an armed ranger — learning to read tracks, identify medicinal plants, and understand the smaller wonders of the bush. Afternoon drive continues until after dark with a spotlight revealing nocturnal creatures.

Kruger National Park Full Day

Today enter Kruger National Park proper for a full-day drive with a packed picnic lunch. Explore different habitats — from the thorn thickets of the south to the open savannah of the central region. Visit a waterhole hide for patient wildlife viewing and photography. Return to the lodge for dinner.

Morning Drive & Departure

Final early morning game drive, often the best for leopard sightings. Return for breakfast, pack up, and transfer to your next destination or the airport.
