Addis Ababa
Explore the capital — National Museum, Trinity Cathedral, and Mount Entoto panoramic views.
Fly to Mekele — Drive to Hamed Ela
Fly to Mekele, visit Wukro Kirkos Church, then journey toward Hamed Ela village at the edge of the Danakil.
Hamed Ela to Dallol
Descend into the Danakil Depression's lowest point. Experience uniquely colorful volcanic terrain, tour salt mines, and observe Afar camel caravans.
Hamed Ela to Erta Ale Volcano
Travel to Dodom village, then trek up Erta Ale — the "Smoking Mountain" — to witness the spectacular active lava lake. Sleep on the volcano's rim.
Erta Ale to Tigray
Early descent from the volcano. Visit Tigray's renowned rock-hewn churches before arriving in Wukro for overnight.
Return to Addis Ababa
Drive to Mekele, fly back to Addis Ababa. Visit Ba'ata Mariam and St. George's churches.
