Basecamp Masai Mara

Basecamp Masai Mara is a pioneering eco-tourism camp situated on the banks of the Talek River, right at the entrance to the Masai Mara National Reserve. Founded with the vision of making authentic safari accessible while empowering local Maasai communities, the camp has won multiple eco-tourism awards.

Fifteen comfortable safari tents are built from natural materials and feature en-suite eco-bathrooms with bucket showers heated by solar energy. The camp runs entirely on solar power, recycles waste water, and employs almost exclusively from the neighbouring Maasai community.

Game drives into the reserve offer world-class wildlife viewing at a fraction of the cost of the luxury conservancy camps. Walking safaris with Maasai warriors, village visits, and participation in community projects give guests a deeper connection with the land and its people. The camp is ideal for families, solo travellers, and anyone seeking authentic safari without the ultra-luxury price tag.
