Karen Blixen Camp

Karen Blixen Camp is named after the famous Danish author of Out of Africa and sits on the banks of the Mara River within the Mara North Conservancy. The camp combines the romance of the early safari era with modern comfort and exceptional game viewing in one of the Mara’s prime locations.

Twenty-two spacious luxury tents line the riverbank, each with en-suite bathrooms, outdoor showers, and private verandas overlooking the river where hippos wade and elephants come to drink. The main mess tent features a well-stocked bar, library, and elegant dining area.

The Mara North Conservancy offers exclusive game viewing with strict vehicle limits. Big cat sightings are a daily occurrence, and during the Great Migration the camp’s riverside location provides front-row seats to the drama of river crossings. Night drives, bush walks, and Maasai cultural visits are included.
