Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge is located in the village of Kinigi, just a few minutes’ walk from the Volcanoes National Park headquarters where gorilla trekking briefings take place each morning. The lodge offers comfortable accommodation at accessible rates.
The 18 rooms are housed in stone-and-timber cottages set amid tropical gardens with views of the Virunga volcanoes. Each room has en-suite bathrooms, comfortable beds, and a private veranda. The restaurant serves a blend of Rwandan and international cuisine.
The lodge’s proximity to the park headquarters makes early morning departures for gorilla trekking easy. Staff help arrange permits, golden monkey tracking, Dian Fossey’s tomb hike, and cultural visits to the nearby Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village.
