Paraa Safari Lodge

Paraa Safari Lodge sits on the southern bank of the Victoria Nile within Murchison Falls National Park, overlooking the river where it widens into a hippo-filled channel. The lodge has hosted royalty and celebrities since its founding in the 1950s.

The 54 rooms include standard rooms and suites, all with Nile-facing terraces. The lodge features a large swimming pool on the riverbank, a spa, and a restaurant with panoramic Nile views. Crocodiles and hippos are visible from the dining terrace.

Activities include boat trips to the base of Murchison Falls (one of the world’s most powerful waterfalls), game drives on the Buligi circuit for lion, elephant, and giraffe, and chimp trekking in Budongo Forest. The ferry crossing to the northern bank for game drives departs from right beside the lodge.
