Tortilis Camp takes its name from the distinctive flat-topped acacia tortilis trees that dot the Amboseli landscape. Situated on a private conservancy bordering the national park, this award-winning camp offers an exclusive safari experience with far fewer crowds than properties inside the park.
The 17 luxurious tents are raised on wooden platforms, each featuring spacious interiors, en-suite bathrooms with hot showers, and private verandas with uninterrupted views of Kilimanjaro. The camp’s eco-friendly design blends seamlessly into the landscape using local materials.
Being on a private conservancy allows Tortilis Camp to offer activities not available inside the park, including night drives, guided bush walks, and visits to local Maasai communities. The camp has won multiple awards for its community conservation work and sustainable tourism practices.
