Mount Kilimanjaro

Mount Kilimanjaro, standing at 5,895 metres, is Africa’s tallest mountain and the world’s highest free-standing mountain. Located in northeastern Tanzania near the Kenyan border, this dormant volcano offers one of the most accessible high-altitude treks on Earth.

Climbers pass through five distinct ecological zones on their way to the summit: cultivated farmland, rainforest, heather and moorland, alpine desert, and arctic summit. Each zone harbours unique flora and fauna.

Several routes lead to the summit, with Machame and Lemosho being the most scenic. The trek typically takes 5-9 days depending on the route and acclimatization schedule.
