Murchison Falls National Park

Murchison Falls National Park is Uganda’s largest and oldest conservation area, covering 3,840 square kilometres in northwestern Uganda. The park is bisected by the Victoria Nile, which plunges 43 metres through a narrow 7-metre gorge creating the dramatic Murchison Falls.

Boat cruises to the base of the falls are among East Africa’s most memorable experiences, passing hippos, Nile crocodiles, and herds of elephants and buffalo along the riverbanks. The park is also home to the Rothschild’s giraffe, one of the most endangered giraffe subspecies.
