Bisate Lodge by Wilderness Safaris is one of Africa’s most architecturally striking lodges, with six forest villas nestled into the slope of an eroded volcanic cone adjacent to Volcanoes National Park. Each villa’s design echoes the traditional Rwandan royal palace, with thatched domes rising from the volcanic amphitheatre.
The 6 villas feature king-size beds, fireplaces, en-suite bathrooms with heated floors, and private decks with views of the Bisoke, Karisimbi, and Mikeno volcanoes. The main lodge offers fine dining with Rwandan-inspired cuisine, a lounge, and a boutique.
Bisate is the premier base for gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park. The lodge is also involved in an ambitious reforestation programme and community development projects. Golden monkey tracking and volcano hikes are also arranged.
